Collectivity of light Ge and As isotopes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹Be, ¹⁹⁷Au(⁶⁶Ge, ⁶⁶Ge'), (⁶⁷As, ⁶⁷As'), (⁶⁸Se, ⁶⁷As), [secondary cocktail beam of ⁶⁶Be, ⁶⁷As, ⁶⁸Se from ⁹Be(⁷⁸Kr, X), E=150 meV/nucleon primary reaction], E=70 MeV/nucleon; measured particle spectra, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, Coulomb excitation and inelastic scattering cross sections at NSCL, MSU facility. SeGA array for γ-ray detection. ⁶⁶Ge, ⁶⁷As; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2). Comparison with shell-model calculations, and with earlier experimental results.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ^{64,66,68,70,72}Ge; calculated potential energy surface (PES) contours in (β, γ) plane, spectroscopic quadrupole moments, staggering parameter and branching ratios using shell model for first and second 2+ states. ^65,67,69As; calculated levels, J, π, spectroscopic quadrupole moments of low-lying negative-parity states using shell model. Comparison with experimental data.
