Observation of positive-parity bands in 109Pd and 111Pd: Enhanced γ softness

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 168Er(30Si, F), E=142 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin following heavy-ion induced fission. Euroball III array for γ detection at Legnaro facility. 109,111Pd; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, bands, alignments. Total Routhian surface (TRS) calculations. Enhanced γ softness.
