Onset of deformation at N = 112 in Bi nuclei

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁸¹Ta(²⁰Ne, 6n)¹⁹⁵Bi, E=130 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, delayed γγ-coin, DCO, γγ(linear pol) using the INGA array. ¹⁹⁵Bi; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarity, bands, configurations. Comparison with total Routhian surface calculations using Woods-Saxon potential. Systematics of level energies in A=190-206 odd-odd Bi nuclei and even-even Pb nuclei. Discussed nuclear shape, and onset of deformation.
