Octupole collectivity in 220Rn and 224Ra
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 60Ni, 114Cd, 120Sn(220Rn, 220Rn'), E=620.40 MeV; 112Cd, 120Sn(224Ra, 224Ra'), E=633.92 MeV; 60Ni(224Ra, 224Ra'), E=631.68 MeV; [220Rn and 224Ra secondary beams from U(p, X), E=1.4 GeV primary reaction]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-, (particle)γ-, (particle)γγ-, (particle)(particle) γ-coin using Miniball array and DSSSDs at REX-EBIS-ISOLDE-CERN facility. 220Rn, 224Ra; deduced levels, J, π, γ-branching ratios, electromagnetic matrix elements, B(E1), B(E2), B(E3), level half-lives, Q1, Q2, Q3, octupole collectivity and deformation. Discussed electric dipole moment (EDM). Coulomb excitation data analyzed using GOSIA computer code. Comparison with self-consistent mean-field theory, and cluster model calculations. Systematics of B(E3), Q2 and Q3 in neighboring nuclides.
