Core-coupled protons, F_7/2 intruder states, and competing G_9/2 proton and neutron structures in ^{65, 67}Cu

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²³⁸U(⁶⁴Ni, X)⁶⁵Cu/⁶⁷Cu, E=430 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γ(θ), γγ(θ) using Gammasphere array and ATLAS facility at ANL. ^65,67Cu; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarity, mixing ratios, configurations. Systematics of 7/2- and positive-parity states in A=57-71 Cu isotopes, and 2+ and 5- states in A=56-70 Ni isotopes. Systematics of ground-state bands in ^60,66,68,70Zn and compared with those of f_7/2- proton bands in ^59,65,67,69Cu. Comparison with shell model calculations using JUN45 and jj44b interactions.
