Discovery of a nonyrast K^π = 8⁺ isomer in ¹⁶²Dy, and the influence of competing K-mixing mechanisms on its highly forbidden decay

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁶⁰Gd(⁹Be, 3nα), E=57 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(t), pulsed beam, isomer half-lives. ¹⁶²Dy; deduced levels, J, π, isomer, bands, multipolarity, hindrance factors, alignment plots, configurations. Analyzed small deviations from N_pN_n dependence.
