High-spin yrast states in the γ-soft nuclei ¹³⁵Pr and ¹³⁴Ce

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹¹⁶Cd(²³Na, 4n), (²³Na, 4np), E=115 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin using Gammasphere array. ¹³⁵Pr, ¹³⁴Ce; deduced levels, J, π, yrast bands, alignment plots, configurations; calculated potential energy surfaces. Comparison with cranking model calculations.
