NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(48Ca, np)55V, (48Ca, 2n)55Cr, E=172 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γ(θ), DCO using Gammasphere Array. 55V, 55Cr; deduced levels, J, π, high-spin levels, configurations, multipolarities, alignments. Comparison with shell-model, and the projected shell model calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 55Cr, 55V; calculated levels, J, π using shell model with KB3G, GXPF1A, and GXPF1B interactions, projected shell model, total Routhian surface plots.
