E1 strength in ²⁰⁸Pb within the shell model

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁸Pb(γ, γ'), E=9-15 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), linear polarization, integrated cross sections. ²⁰⁸Pb; deduced levels, J, π, widths, B(E1). Comparison with shell model and QRPA calculations.
