RADIOACTIVITY 81Zn(β-), (β-n)[from U(p, X), E not given]; measured Eγ, Iγ, βγ-, γγ-coin, parent half-life, delayed-neutron branching ratio. 81Ga; deduced levels, J, π, logft. Comparison with shell-model calculations. Systematics of level energies in N=51, Z=28-42(even) and core-excited states and B(GT) distributions in N=50, Z=31, 33, 35 nuclei. Strengthening of the N=40 subshell gap near 78Ni. 79Ni(β-); predicted decay properties from systematics of neighboring nuclides.
