Nonzero Quadrupole Moments of Candidate Tetrahedral Bands

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁵²Sm(α, 2n), ¹⁴⁷Sm(¹⁶O, 3n), E=25, 73 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin.; deduced the lowest-energy negative-parity bands in ¹⁶⁰Yb and ¹⁵⁴Gd. Comparison with band-mixing calculations.
