NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Ru(78Kr, 2n), E=337-355 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 172Hg; deduced levels, J, π. Recoil-decay tagging technique. 172,173,174Hg; calculated total Routhian surfaces. A=168-206, Z=78, 80; systematics of 2+, 4+ and 6+ states. Comparison with quasiparticle random phase approximation calculations.

RADIOACTIVITY 172Hg(α); measured Eα, Iα, half-life. 171,172Pt, 172Au, 173Hg(α); measured Eα.
