2+ excitation of the 12C Hoyle state
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(p, p'), E=66 MeV; 13C(p, p'), E=200 MeV; measured Ep and σ(θ). 12C; deduced levels, J, π, 2+ excitation of the Hoyle state in 12C. Coupled-channel (CCRC) analysis. Implications for the 8Be+4He reaction rate in stellar environments discussed.
