Evidence for wobbling excitation in ¹⁶¹Lu

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹³⁹La(²⁸Si, 6n), E=175 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. ¹⁶¹Lu deduced high-spin levels, J, π, configurations, triaxial superdeformed bands, possible wobbling excitation. Euroball array, total Routhian surface calculation, level systematics in neighboring isotopes discussed.
