NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁸⁰Hf(⁴⁰Ar, 4n), E=185 MeV; ¹⁷²Yb(⁴⁸Ca, 4n), E=217 MeV; measured prompt and delayed Eγ, Iγ, γγ-, (recoil)γ-coin. ²¹⁶Th deduced levels, J, π, configurations, isomers T_1/2, role of pairing and octupole correlations, implications for Z=92 shell closure. Jurosphere II array, recoil-decay tagging method.
