Observation of Signature Inversion in Odd-Odd ¹⁷⁸Ir

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁵²Sm(³¹P, 5n), E=150-170 MeV; measured Eγ, γγ-, (x-ray)γ-coin, excitation functions. ¹⁷⁸Ir deduced high-spin levels, J, π, alignment, rotational bands configurations, B(M1)/B(E2). Comparison with neighbouring isotopes.
