Study of α + ¹²C scattering and the structure of exotic 7.65 "Hoyle" state

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹²C(α, α), (α, α'), E=60, 110 MeV; measured α spectra, differential σ(θ, E); deduced diffraction radii for g.s., 4.44 MeV, 7.65 MeV and 9.64 MeV states in ¹²C, and structure of second 0+, 7.65 MeV 'Hoyle' state in ¹²C. Comparison with DWBA calculations.
