EMPIRE-II Nuclear Data Sheets volume

How to cite EMPIRE?

The proper reference to the EMPIRE code is a paper recently published in the special issue of Nuclear Data Sheets. The EMPIRE system is the outcome of a multi-year coordinated effort of several developers and contributors who benefitted from the voluntary support of many scientists mentioned in the acknowledgments included in the above mentioned EMPIRE reference paper. The system is distributed free of charge to anybody who is willing to use it. The only reward to the authors are the citations in the published papers. Therefore, we kindly ask for referring to the EMPIRE system in any paper that makes use of it by citing the reference given below in two forms convenient for cutting and pasting:

This work summarizes development of the code, describes physics of the nuclear reaction models and the related input parameter libraries, discusses code's capabilities, and provides basic instructions for performing calculations. More details regarding input instructions and file formats can be found in the manual .

We note that although the above citation refers to the EMPIRE-3.0, i.e., to the version that has not been released yet, the reaction models described in the paper (except of the fission channel) are essentially the same as those in the 2.19 version that is currently available from this web site.
